A young lovely maid with a big heart. She has a kind word for everyone, especially for Yazoo whom she loves dearly. That does not mean that she cannot be very strict too, if need be. Aeris is a very religious person, believing in god and his infinite kindness. She is also very fond of her master, not noticing that he is a vampire.

Cloud Strife is the son of a rich merchant and lives in the same town as Yazoo, Vincent and Aeris. His first encounter with Yazoo is less than pleasant as Yazoo has a fight with one of his friends. He suspects Yazoo and his master Vincent Valentine of evil things (although he is rather fond of Aeris) and goes to their house to investigate. Later he falls in love with Aeris to the point of proposing to her but their marriage is prevented by her death. He then strives to avenge her.

Age: around 460 years (25-27 at time of death)
Race: Vampire

An old vampire that shows up at Vincent´s and Yazoo´s mansion. Apparently he is an old fiend of Vincent and tries to alienate Yazoo from his lover in order to make Vincent miserable. He and Vincent share a dark past.

Vincent Valentine is the main character beside Yazoo. Little is known about his background as of yet. He pretends to be an aristocrate and owns houses in larger towns. At the moment his main residence is where he keeps Yazoo, a human boy he has taken in, and his maid Aeris. Vincent appears to be a very erudite person that spends most of the night in his library reading and teaching Yazoo.
He later partakes in an intimate relationship with Yazoo, although he does not want to become emotionally involved. After a few months he has to face the fact that he does feel for Yazoo and finally makes him a vampire.

Yazoo is a street urchin that originally fell victim to the vampire Vincent Valentine. Upon noticing that there is still hope for him, Vincent takes him in and starts to teach him. First refusing to believe that his two brothers, Kadaj and Loz, have died, he eventually accepts it and starts his new life with the vampire and his maid Aeris, who he considers his 'adopted sister'. He is quite fond of sweets. One could say that Yazoo is a somewhat pragmatic child and does not give much about morals. As he grows older he also comes to accept Vincent whom he first blamed for the dead of his brothers. He doesn´t know about Vincent´s true nature, having forgotten about his first encounter with the vampire due to an alteration of his memory Vincent had undertaken.
He has an intimate relationship with Vincent and is made into a vampire by him later.
